I agree with Anika. English is much harder than french. But German is easier still.

Isn't chinese consisting of over a thousand letters or something.

Yasmin I said English was EASIER! Is that what you meant and had a typo? German, hehe, I tried learning from one of those books that you teach youself with. Well I knoe a lot of little frases but I soon forgot them since I had no real Germen to speak to.

Wink According to my consideration

From my own consideration, I think All languages are seems to be hard before you get prepared to learn it.

Cool

guys u ever gave any thoughts to East and South east Asian Languages. I'm learnin thai at the moment - and I'm having to learn 5 different tones. The slightest difference in the tone of a word will change the whole meaning of the word and ruin the whole sentence n vice versa. For instance the word 'mai' has five different meanings pronounced with 5 different tones . Don't even want to think about what Japanese will be like - I'll probbaly take Japanese next year hehe.

But yes if you don't practice it easy to forget ebngali - well ateast the vocabularys - that's what's happening to me at the moment - gotta get hold of a bengali-english dictionary

english is very easy, even if u skip some words from the middle or out it will still make some sense to u. people can learn to speak english easily, don't have to be fluent in it, but can still convey the message across..
hardest language out their, i would say, have to be chinese!
i heard that a student needs to memorize more than a 1000 letters just to read a newspaper..there are still more letters..
sice we are talking about languages can anyone tell me websites or books about/where i can learn bangla....i love the language, just can't find enough sources to go further..
bye for now..
take care

you can learn Bangla at my university (www.soas.ac.uk), in the SOAS language centre. I'm sure there are other institutions in East London, you just have to search on the net i guess
