iv been brought up in the midlands although now i live up north....

newcastle....
accents:-

the geordie acccent is a turn off...
i prefer the down south accent....
ppl think i talk posh....
the asian lads here do act desperate when thers a decent looking girl going past they act like theyv never seen a girl before...
its cuz there arnt many asian girls up here compared to down south.... but they arnt all like that....

i gota say some of the london guys that iv come across with....iv had these dicks pestering me.... so i think it depends really....
but OLdham itself is a really ****ty town......

Im neither from London, Birmingham or up North, but what is it with you all having accents with this asian twang??

Its like even if I had my eyes closed Id be able to tell they were asian. Fair enough you pick up the accent of where ever you live, but whats up with the asian twang, is that something you get when you live in an area where its predominantly asian??

up north is raw man, i went to birmingham and it felt like i was back in 1971 with all the industrial buildins n ****,

I’m from Birmingham and don’t have a brummie accent (in fact not many do) which is stronger in the black country and places like Dudley.

Birmingham is rather nice as are the people (with the exception to small heath :P)

You can’t beat London in terms of the mix of people, developments, things to see and do; but “londoni manoosh” I find are just too preoccupied trying to make money one way or another. They come across as cold and unfriendly, always in a rush.

Mind you I know a lot of Bengali Londoners who dress like its 1971…

naa man, birmingham ppl do have a accent, we recently had some cousins from over there come over durin the school holidays, and the young boy had a distinctive accent...it was kinda funny

its true what ppl say about london, ppl are preoccupied, selfish, allways in a rush...some for no good reasons

so do any of the non-londoners think we have a distinctive accent?

i can speak proper english when i have to, when i do it makes me seem more friendly and calm...but my general accent is a cokney one...some shaada ppl say my accents more cokney's then theres, which is surprisin to me because i jus think i speak normally...but then again i do say things like "do u wanna" or "init" ...i think when im jus speakin how i normally do, sometimes it may come across as unfriendly...like especially one the fone because my voice is deep, plus i dont get emotional when i speak...its just calm...theres no expression to it...which may seem unfriendly
