It is true that we are one of the best violaters of human rights but is it not also true that we have only the government and society itself to blame.

We live in communities where if we are relatively well off we can hire servants or slaves whom are subjected to our whims, ie. beatings for not doing as theyre told, malnutrition, and excruciatingly low incomes.
Not only do the rich exploit the poor but they even have the audacity to complain about the poverty. Its like a suppression of the multitude as Marxist describes In Das Kapital.
The govt which is interested in short termism and their own hides are hiding behind the rich and therefor failing to address the core issues of Bangladesh, like endorsing hman rights and social equality. It seems that the govt, whichever party, share Thatcher's view that we should have the "FREEDOM TO BE UNEQUAL"!

Hello,
I'm interested in Bangladesh since many years and hear about all this, what prevent your country to get better. Sorry, my heart is weeping because I've had a (little) look upon your country since 1971 when first I've heard of it (I was 13 years old). I was interested in this little big country, but when I've heard about the corruption there and so on, I felt so sad, because I know that without that you would have the chance to be better.

With tears in my eyes.....
Greetings from Germany
Renate

i dont know wheather to laugh or cry or just go numb after reading this. first of all in Bangladesh the only human right that often gets violated is the political right of the opposition. the politicians are all bunch of crooks. so let them rot in hell. the other thing that all the NGO's scream about is women's right. let me give you a pic of women's right in USA. 1 out of 4 women are sexually assulted here; every 10 minutes one woman is beaten. i wont write the fact that women's bodies r on sail in the western world.(oh..i forgot they call it freedom). so that they can show their nude body to arouse men to buy products and sometimes them(women). granted that BD is not perfect but it isn't anywhere close to being as bad as the NGO's would make u believe.
second: capitalism is a western idea. in that rich gets richer and poor gets poorer. so stop complaining if you want capitalism.
finally why is the shout about human rights. there is a conspiracy theory. who benefits from it. India!! what u say? let me explain. India violates more human rights than china. Hindus in India have destroyed masjid. Hindus in India have destroyed church. killed and raped people of kashmir and shikhs. but do u hear about them? no. I wonder why some Hindus in Bangladesh cry out about Human rights. i wonder what property they have in india even though they live and have businesses in Bangladesh.
if the situation in Bangladesh is unstable than India can claim as the only stable democracy in that region. (pakhis r idiots. so forget about them). thus more investment. thus more control over Bangladesh's politics. thus turn Bangladesh into its market and into an unproductive ****ry.
so to all of you, try to think for yourself and see what is kept hidden from you. and for Gods sake dont believe the weopns of neocolonialism(The NGOs). joy bangla/blagladesh zindabad

a person is what he or she thinks, and no thought is better than a diseased thought. SHIVA you are diseased. you jumped at the opportunity to discredit Bangladesh's human right. but once you got proper responce you started writing 'blah blah'. you are a black sheep of the family. it is people like you who give average Hindus bad name. you are worse than the 'rajakaras' of the 1971. we can at least identify them, but the likes of you are very difficult to identify, because you change color everytime you get caught.
