Recall how children get to study, learn, and correct their steps under parental pressure (parents dangle both the carrot n stick depending on the context and circumstance)!

Countries like Afganisthan, Bangladesh, Pakistan - when left alone - had gone under the grip of ultra-religionists who later day turned into international terrorists (like children - perennially left alone - shall fall under bad influence]. These coutries had their existencial roots in the `priciple of exclusivity' - a virulent form of racisim.

Then 9/11 happened; the USA in particular and wetern Europe in general decided ` enuf is enuf'! Observe the sea change occuring in these coutries who are now singing the tunes of `civility, human rights, democracy' - as the USA dangles both carrot (dollar gifts to these coutries) and stick (Afganistan is already occupied; Pakistan is virtually occupied; Bangladesh is visited by any US under scretary every other day one can understand why!). Thus, one observes the hand of friendship extended to Indians by ordinary pakistanis and its rulers alike; Kashmir is now just an itch and no longer the bone of contention! President of Pakistan talks of building a `civil society' and NOT to patronize religion-based, racist, `exclusive' society!

When Pakistan becomes a civil society honouring canons of human rights, Bangladesh shall follow suit! India too needs to watch its steps and take cognizance of human right violations within its boundaries!

Like or not, the Big Brother is not merely watching but acting - this time for the better !
