"Ancient Hindu epics indicate that thousands of years ago, tribal people inhabited a kingdom called Vanga in the region that is now Bangladesh. Historians know little about the region before about the 200’s B.C., when it formed part of the Maurya Empire. This empire broke up about 185 B.C., and local king then ruled Bengal. From about A.D. 320 to 500, the region was part of the Gupta Empire."
This article that I have found is rather fascinating and it also mentions that archaeologists and historians only know about our ancient history from 200 BC but what about the yime before that? A civilization couldn't just come from anywhere and just be a part of history can it?

There are several references to the Vanga kingdom in the hindu epic Mahabharata. It was written sometime between 500 BCE and 200 CE. I found this site a few weeks ago. Check it out.. http://www.geocities.com/raqta24/bangladesh2.htm |
