Representation in Indian Government

Mr. Khalid, please make ur GK strong enough to pass any comments. India doesn't have a hindu government, the country is a secular one. Secondly, the representation depends on the quality and calibre of ones persona. The muslims of India are mostly illiterate and obssessed with religion like u and neglect basic education. So with this background they can only represent a terrorist gang like SIMI and other numerous Al- x,y,z but never a party or a government. Request u to please look into the hindu reprentation in bangladesh.

In matter of fact, it is no new concept, the concept was conceived by the Muhammad Ali Jinnah ( The Liberator Or Quiad-e-Azam) in the early years of the freedom movement. If I am not wrong so; perhaps in 1935 prior to election of constituent assembly , Muhammad Ali Jinnah introduced the idea of separate electons
to give voice to the minorities in the constituent assemblies to safe guard their rights under colonial rule.

(maybe not a good enuf link to post here..but what the heck! ;-)

Ironically, he was elected on a BJP ticket(a party usually perceived as pro-Hindu) from a constituency which has over 70% muslims.

Again, in the larger context, you have a point, since Mr.Hussain is the 'sole' representative from the minority Muslim community in the Indian Parliament, (as against 3 Christian representatives). This is certainly a case of low parity, but at the same time we should keep in mind that the present Indian Government is headed by a pro-hindutva forces, and naturally the majority of the muslims have voted for the opposition candidates. So my point is that this is more a case of variation in representation depending on the incumbent government. India has seen adequate representation of muslims in the ministry in the past, and so will we see a much better representation, come next elections and a new Government is sworn in.

Representation means not only representation in govenment but also in all governmental institution, such as police, Military, air force, educational and vocational institutions etc.
