Historians have marked a long period (the mediaeval period) in European history as `dark ages' during which the Church ruled supreme. The hall-mark of `dark ages' was persecuting / killing any person who ventured to offer ideas which were independent of the Church; the `way of life' had been dictated by the "agents of the God" to the last syllable; and the result was: the misery / sorrows of the people knew no bound; death was the only reality !!!
Well, a time came when hoipolloi were no longer attracted to the allurement of reaching heaven after death. They sought intellectual independence and material comforts in "this life". They broke themselves free from the strangle-hold of "agents of the God" and the results are all there for us to observe, understand and infer on. After all, people from this side (bd. /china / ind. /pak... etc.) of the globe have been immigrating to the other side perpetually, and those who can't day-dream about it, and most importantly it is one-way traffic!!! You all have heard of "brain-drain". The "best" amongst us shall always immigrate to "freedom" !!! At the dawn of 21st century, we still have `dark-spots' on the globe as Europe had been during mediaeval period; and causal agents are the same !!! It is said that: ---------------- 1. Common-sense is highly un-common. 2. Largely, people are intellectually so lazy as to easily succumb to `herd' mentality. 3. The toughest task in the realm of social engineering is to penetrate collective un-consciousness. HEY YOU ALL , WAKE UP !!! |
