Western Sahara and the Zionists

Formely known as “Spanish Sahara”, this thinly Muslim populated land south of Morocco was occupied by Spain from 1884 to 1975 CE. The Spanish census of 1974, estimated the population of its colony at 74,000. Some 100,000 Muslims living in Morocco, who claim to be descendents of Sahrawi families expelled from the territory during Spanish colonial period.

In 1975, the Moroccan regime through its friendly relations with Jewish Lobby (Morocco used to have the largest Jewish community in the Muslim world before the plantation of Zionist-regime in Palestine) - put its claim over the territory, which is rich in Iron and Phosphate deposits, plus fishing reserves. To follow-up its claim, the regime arranged the famous non-violent march of about 350,000 civilians, known as the “Green March” - which sparked the diplomatic process, which ended in Madrid Accord (November 1975) - under which, under Washington’s pressure - Spain instead of awarding full independence to its colony - divided it into Morocco (67% land) and Mauritania (33% land).

The local and exiled leaders formed the resistance group - known as “Popular Front for the Liberation of Saguia el-Hamra and Rio de Oro (Polisario)”, based in neighbouring Algeria - to fight this high-handedness.

The cost of occupation forced Mauritania to vacate the land on August 5, 1979 - leaving the entire country under the control of Moroccan occupation forces. The fighting between Moroccan forces and Polisario continued till the United Nations Security Council brokered a cease-fire on April 29, 1991. The UNSC Resolution called for a referendum that allow the people to choose between full independence as demanded by Algerian-based Polisario (Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic) OR join Morocco, which claims Western Sahara to be its integral part.

Fighting between Moroccan forces and Palisario fighters have resulted in the death of an estimated 10,000 people. In addition to that - Rabat has been busy in providing incentives to Moroccans to settle in Western Sahara in order to change the country demographically. The result is that both Moroccan regime and Polisario are not interested in the referendum anymore for their personal interests. For Polisario - a no vote would be the death nail in its coffin - while a “Greater Morocco” could signal the down-fall of King Hassan II.

King Hassan II has many friends in the Jewish Lobby, while with the end of the so-called “Cold War” - the left-wing Polisario, has lost its traditional friends - Russia and Cuba. In addition to that, Algeria’s secularist regime - bloodied by its own civil war - is not interested to keep supporting Polisario against the wishes its western allies.

Clayton E. Swisher in his article of April 13, 2007, published by United Press International, wrote: “Elliot Abrams, the deputy national security adviser for global democracy strategy, is again sowing the seeds of conflict in the Middle East. This time, it’s in the disputed Western Sahara, under Moroccan control following the end of Spanish colonial rule in 1975.

After being marginalized from Arab-Israeli arena, now under the almost exclusive domain of Secretary of States, Condoleeza Rice, and her State Department, Abrams is pulling free the grenade pin that may shortly the North Africa to explode. He is on the verge of achieving a major U.S. policy shift that would have Washington supporting Morocco’s unilateral imposition of its so-called Western Sahara Initiative, or autonomy plan upon the indigenous Sahrawi people of Western Sahara.

U.S. officials distracted by other pressing regional conflagrations first viewed Abrams’ Maghreb meddling as a small price to be paid for getting him out of Arab-Israeli domain. They barely paid attention as Abrams tinkered with a new Western Sahara strategy, an embryonic idea raised by outgoing U.S. ambassador to United Nations, John Bolton (an ‘Israel-First’ Zionist) - who threatened to do away with the Western Sahara peacekeeping mission, which turned costly over time in the absence of a successful settlement.”

John Pilger, in February 05, 2007 article (New Statesman), entitled Iran: The War Begins, too shows Zionist Jew, Elliot Abrams behind anti-Iranian propaganda for the benefit of Zionist entity.

Israeli professor, Benjamin Beit-Hallahmi, in his book “The Israeli Connection: Whom Israel Arms and Why”, proves Israeli hands behind many conflicts and wars in the Muslim world.
