Dear viewers,

Since my childhood I have been listenning many names of the declarer of the 'WAR OF LEBERATION' of bangladesh. Two of the main names I have been hearing is 1)BONGOBONDHU SHIEKH MUZIBUR RAHMAN, and the other one is 2)SHOHID PRESIDENT ZIAUR RAHMAN. I know that very well that, both have a very good contribution towards Bangladesh's development upto this level.

Mostly I remember, almost all the things from the year 1999. At that time the ruling party was 'AWAMI LEAGE'
(AL). The thing that I most remember was 15th of August, the the day on which BONGOBONDHU SHIEKH MUZIBUR RAHMAN and almost all his family members were killed. There I heard clearly the following words on a cassette :"poneroi August, BONGOBONDHU SHIEKH MUZIBUR RAHMAN, Bangladesher shaadhinotar ghoshok takee o tar poriberer prai shobaike hottha kora hoee". here "SHAADHINOTER GHOSHOK" is also used after the the name of SHOHID PRESIDENT ZIAUR RAHMAN, when 'BNP' come on the power. Years later on the year 2002,on ZIA's killing day i heard two different records. NO.1) "I AM MAJOR ZIAUR RAHMAN, DECLARING THE WAR OF INDEPENDENCE OF BANGLADESH", which was uttered on 26th of March 1971. ANd in the other was :"I AM MAJOR ZIAUR RAHMAN ,ON BEHALF OF BONGOBONDHU SHIEKH MUZIBUR RAHMAN DECLARING THE WAR OF INDEPENDENCE OF BANGLADESH".

here i am confused about the fact that who really declared the war of indpendence? Ziaur Rahman or Muzibur Rahman?

SO PLEEEEEEEEEASE HLP ME OUT OF THIS PROBLEM.

The answer is both did!! Bongobondho announced the war of liberation on the night of the 25th after the attack on DU Campus and during the attack on Old Dhaka. But unfortunately as the news of the massacre hasn't spread yet most people missed it. But the announcement was picked up by fisherman and various shipping vessels out at sea.(At that period of time sea vessels were dependent on the radio for weather forcasts as they lacked basic naval equipment(too poor) and so they had to have it turned on all the time ).

And later Major Zia ( Later President Shahid Zia) on behalf of bongobondhu made the official announcement of the freedom of Bangladesh in English broadcasted across the nation. Which was indeed very brave of him as he was still technically part of the Pakistan military.

But mate it really shouldn't matter who made the announcement as they were both great men who ssacrificed a lot for their country.( Both were brutally assasinated). Even though they had some flaws ( Bongobondhu banned all other political parties and president Shahid Zia was a dictator who ruthlessly executed his opposition(Mainly army officers). Yet they had both done more for Bangladesh than all these bastards politicians combined today. So respect 'em both as you will probably not see such personalites even again.
