Who likes Greek Mythology n the gr8 epics... I'm not gonna write a lot (I hope) cuz I already did n it got deleted grrr....
wat i mean is like the Iliad n the Orestria n the Odyssey

eh naquib... didya know dat fagles messed up big time on d translation ov d Iliad regardin Aphrodite and Zeus? He kept referrin to her as the daughter ov Zeus, when she iz actually his aunt... (fagles translation iz supposed 2 b d best... n reflectin on otherz... i gotta say dat i agree)

so wat r ur fav. classics by homer n d rest?

Aphrodite is Zeus' aunt? Shut up! But then it would mean that she married her great-nephew!!!! And had an affair with her other great-nephew!!!

I knew there was some confusion with Aphrodite. I had always thought that she wasn't really anyone's daughter 'cuz she came from that oyster thing, right? But Zeus' aunt...that is so weird!

I'm really into mythology and all that, especially greek, but I don't know the official names of any of the stories...I just know the stories!

well.. abt Aphrodite, by the oyster thing - I suppose u mean the story ov how Uranus lay on the earth and produced Cronus who had the hmmm wats it called? a scalpel or somefing... which he used to spear Uranus' genitals n while Uranus was runnin away screamin n agony, his genital fell in the water, and out popped Aphrodite, n Uranus' blood hit the earth and created hmm... not sure who... lolz... Not sure abt how exactly Aphrodite is Zeus' aunt... I'll ask my prof... I just had class this mornin n this is 1 ov the stories we discussed... o n another 1 is abt Athena...

n how Zeus (n his Zeus-complex - where he "jumps" on anything that moves) is confronted with Metis (the oracle or seer claims that the child ov Metis will be stronger than the father) and he swallows her... n although she comes out the way anything u consume (lolz) comes out... out popped Athena from Zeus' head

Naaa, you got the Athena story right...as far as I can rmbr.

Weren't Cronus and Uranus Titans? 'Cuz then it would make Zeus and Aphrodite cousins, 'cuz I'm relatively sure that Zeus' parents are Titans and Zeus, with the help of his siblings Hera, Hades and Neptune (whose Greek name I cannot for the life of me rmbr), helped to defeat them and thus got to be king of all the gods. And he married Hera (can you say incest? ) and Hades and Neptune got the other two kingdoms.

My fave character on the Simpsons has always been Lisa, which I know is prolly the least popular of the Simpsons family (not counting Maggie). I mean, I love Homer, but Lisa just holds a special place in my heart, y'know.
