Who is the man on your Taka...the 10 taka notes. And if u have the time can someone give me a brief history on him. Thanks in advance

Probably that of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman (1920-1975). The founding father of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Also popularly known as 'Bongobhondu' or friend of the Bangali's.


He was the political leader who agitated for and led Bangali's through, the separation from Pakistan, during the 1971 War of Liberation.


He was assassinated in 1975, by rightist elements in the armed forces. Alarmed by his Pro-Communist alignment and the growing disorder in the country.

rini, it says USMC at the bottom of his post

USMC = united states marine corps
