AWT some interesting points you make and things I'v noticed as well. If I get this right your saying that the whole situation is ironic since we say we are proud bangalies and proud of our language and yet some of us identify ourselves and being Indian and speak only english at home?
Glad to say that's not me and the one of the biggest mistakes parents make is letting their children speak English at home. Children are versatile with versatile minds and they can pick up English easily and anyways, english is all around them wherever they go in the UK or Canada. Why would any parents think their children won't succeed? Have some faith and the only think they should put effort into is making the kids remember their mother toung and their own culture, they'll easily pick up the english one anyways. You'll see, that way when they grow up, no identity crises, they'll know who they are and where they come from.
