Question Sylhet

I went to Sylhet for 3 months beginning of this year and just want to keep up with what is going on there. Also to find out about how much people are using the Information Technology in Sylhet and what kind of computers they are using.

Hey, don't you know I live in Sylhet!?!?!
Well, lots of pepole are in IT now in Sylhet... more than 2000 people have internet connection at home!! But the main problem is we aren't good at English, that's why usually you don't see the local Sylheti people across the net. By the way, we generally use Pentium 2/3 computer, and the O/S is Win 98 or 2K!!!

Salaam Jajabar,

Thank you for replying to my e-mail.

I am sorry to hear that not many Sylhet's use the web because of the language barrier. Can they not create a web for people who can write in Bengali and so be able to commuicate. I am sure this give their confidence a boost and to all those out there who would prefer to communicate in their own language. I know in India there are people who are communicating in Bengali.

May this can be a project you can undertake.

What is happening in Sylhet at the moment. Has there been any fighting because of the elections. Is there anything I should know as I might be coming to Sylhet in the next couple of months.

Hope to hear from you soon.

Wa Alaikum Salaam
