I used to watch only American/English movies until 5-6 yrs ago. But recently Bollywood has been dominating, but there are some "must see" Hollywood movies such as the Matrix, so I will definately try and set aside a few hours for it

As for the donkey and safron. The whole point of the saying is, as far as I've understood it, that donkeys are stupid and hence don't know the price/Value of safron. i.e. they can't tell the difference when eating, between ordinary grass and safron that ppl pay a high prices to purchase. Hence, "gadha kya jaane zaafran ka bhao"

"What goes around comes around"

what goes around comes around

i believe that is true, although sometimes it is just coincidence, if you put out negative vibes, then it will eventually come back an get you

ive had it come back to me a 3 times in a row now, n im still the same person as i was before it came around but i dont wanna go into details ere

i dont think it allways come back around, but when it does, as long as ur strong enuff 2 deal wiv it and move on,then its all good aint it altho i think the whole fing loses all meanings, like wen a person is really good and then sumtin bad happens 2 dem, i dont understand dat

who laughs last laughs best?

wot da hell is that? lol did you jus make that up rini?

Snoopy, I think Rini meant "the one who laughs last, laughs best" I don't know if that's how it goes in English, at least that's what we say in Scandinavia

I agree, bad vibes will sooner or later come back. So you better start working on your good karma otherwise you'll be in serious trouble Snoops But since you said that you've experienced 3 bad vibes then I guess you can relax. I recall another saying, don't know the exact words, but something like, troubles come in threes!

When something bad happens to good people, that's just fate. The same with bad stuff happening to "bad" people. Or perhaps they did send out some bad vibes without knowing it?? Who knows?

Hey Rini, How ya doing?
I will watch the Matrix, for the special effects, Keanu Reeves and coz I think it's a brain teaser And coz you recommended it

Here's another one, "aaj ka kaam kal par mat choro" i.e. Don't postpone things for tomorrow.
and as I always say, "4 din ki zindagi hain, 2 din guzar gae hain, 3 din aaj hain, aur kal kisi ne bhi nahi dekha"
Guess that's the meaning of "Carpe Diem" sieze the day!

Arre Yaara why you calling me an ullu? Hmm it won't even be an insult if I called you a dog in return

I believe in fate and destiny and all that to a certain extent- but as you say, we are also in control. Everything is relative though and should not be seen in blak-white terms coz most of the time, things are just grey

I feel for you cousin's uncle and the family he left behind and can see how stuff like this might make you ask a few question...but all I can say is that one should have faith no matter what happens- easier said than done. Been there, done it and 1½ yrs down the road, I have finally stopped asking why my only uncle had to die in a weird car accident, why Allah chose to take him away from my khala and leave her all alone, why, why, why, why? But as my dad said time and time again (and he was the one who lost the only sibling he had) "when Allah gave us this blessing (my uncle) we did not ask him why he gave it to us, and now that he has taken the blessing away, who are we to ask "why"?
Anyways, I also believe that Allah does not burden the individual with more than they can handle. If good people are afflicted with trouble, they will also be given the patience and stamina to deal with it- no doubt

Right, let's try this one, "better late than never".

Right, let's try this one, "better late than never".

i had to call you a ullu to bring back the convo back to its light hearted manner, there was no sinister intentions involved i assure you...chappati muncher

the whole fate and destiny thing, its to far fetched for me but sometimes i can understand why people believe that fate and destiny plays a part in our lifes

i think allah does burden some people with more then they can handle, i aint having a go at the system, im just being realistic, if people had problems they could handle..there wouldnt be people commiting suicide or dying of hunger etc

better late then never huh i guess in some cases thats true, like if the thing your delaying gonna bring a smile to someones face then it is better late then never..im gettn soppy in my old age

what about this saying...

"you dont know what you got till its gone"
