Yeah - mee too, I am a Talukdar aswell. Dont know about Mums side. I dont think my hubby's side has a ghusti name.

dads from beani bazar and mum is from shadimapur.

only ever been there once, so means nothing to me really, except that i can only really understand beani bazari sylheti properly. theres so many different ways of speaking even sylheti! theres all that ayram zayram lingo that all other sylhetis seem to say.... we dont say that, we say ayar and zayar.... wierd!

didnt your parents look into your hubbys gushti name before you got married?

my big sis is in the process of getting hitched at the mo, and all anyone seems to care about is what zaat the bloke is: that has to be checked out first and foremost! and then they check out what part of bangladesh he's from, so that they can ask people they know from that area about them in case anyone has heard bad things about their family.... its crazy! like we really care about that kinda rubbish anymore! as long as the bloke is nice, i think thats all that matters.

is the zaat like, what caste they are or something..? anyways it isnt really any of that you are supposed to look for in a guy or a girl when you get married to them. You are supposed to look at their religion first, because its what the prophet has sed (its the most important), then you can look at other things, such as where he might be from and stuff.
