Wink

WARNING!! Please dont read on a full stomach!!

Okay, lets start of with a lil story to tickle you taste buds!!

Narrated by Pheonix, played by Snoopz and Sparkle!!

The boy that lost his sweets!!

'Thats Haraam!!!' shouted the girl at the lil boy.

Inside the lunch box were two delicious looking marshmallow candy bars.
The girl snatched them and strated looking at the ingredients!! 'Look, there's gelatin and lard innit!!'

The lil boy looked doen into his now barren-seeming lunch box! He realized that he couldn't eat those tasty looking treats!

He didnt know he couldnt eat them. After all, his mum bought those candy barsfor him all the time. How could something his mother bought him be soooo bad?!

===============================================================

Allah has said, 'People eat from the World what is lawful and good. But dont follow in the ways of the Shaytan because he is declared your enemy!' (2:168)

Halaal foods are those which Allah has said are open for people to eat. Remember there are more foods that are halaal than haraam, even in out modern day society.

Basically Four specific types of foods are forbidden by Allah.

'He only forbidden you to eat

1. dead meat that are otherwise sanctioned as legitimate
2. blood
3. pork or wild animals that employ teeth for killing their victims i.e. tigers, wolves, birds of prey such as eagles, crows.
4. food dedicated or offered in sacrifice to idols in place of Allah.

But if someone is forced to eat those things without willfully disobeying nor overboard then there is no blame on them because Allah is the Forgiving and Merciful.' (2:173)

Trouble we have today!

Many foods in the supermarkets are processed foods. A food is called processed when many ingredients are brought together, mixed, pre-cooked so that it is ready to eat.

Processed foods are filled with chemicals and wierd substances, shot with radiation or microwaves to make them resistant to spoilage to sit on store shelves for weeks, months or years!!

The candy bar you are eating could be a year old or more!! The source of many of these wierd ingredients is often derived from animals. Cows and pigs are the main sources. Enzymes are the main ingredient for most cheeses and dairy products....... and they're scraped from out of the dead cows or pigs stomach!!

http://www.bangladesh.com/forums/sho...?threadid=6992

Many sweet brands are made creamy by scraping the gooey fat deposits called gelatin from the in-between hooves of pigs or cows!! Dough conditioners and emulsifiers are AGAIN often taken from the inside intenstines, stomach and other places of these animals.....

GROSS isn't it!!
It doesn't stop there - want me to go on....???
Wanna know more about supermarket meat?!

Okay, okay i get it!! Here i'll stop!! Here's the bucket!!
Swiftly moving onto how is the animal slaughtered!!

How the animal is slaughtered!!!

WARNING!!! CLOSE YOUR EYES - SCARY MOVIE ABOUT TO START!!

Today, in the meat packing industry, the blood is not fully drained from the cows or chickens. The carcasses lay around for hours before they are even processed!! Allowing time for germs and disease to infest and spread from the animals stomach, bladder, intestines throught the the whole of the meat!!

WAIT!!!!!

The bladder is often ruptured in the slaughtering process and can cause the urine to spill over the meat. The slaughter house workers dont even make sure the animal dies a quick and painless death as is required in Islam.

Animals are often given shock, electricuted to death, shot in the head with bullets or cut into pieces before they are even dead!!

The Islamic way - Ritually slaughtered.

The Animal is given some water and is faced towards Mecca.

Muslims consecrate the killing by saying the words Bismillah and Allahu Akhbar. A sharp knife is taken over the throat of the animal that the main arteries (both windpipe and jugular vein) are cut under with one strike but the spianl cord is left alone for a while until all the blood oozes out!!

Modern day slaughterhouse workers dont mention Allah's name when the animals are slaughtered rather they curse and yell! We pronounce the name of Allah and say prayer to call attention to the fact that we are not taking life thoughtlessly, but with the permission of Allah for food.

Halaal and Kosher meat are however slaughtered by hand, the animals die painlessly, Allah's name is mentioned and disease ridden blood is drained out, making the meat healthy and safe.

This is the kindest method to kill the animal and allows it to lose consciuosness immediately and for the blood to be drained freely and completely.

Exceptions to eating non-halaal!!

In cases of absolute necessity, Muslims may eat what there is available.

'If one is forced because there is no other choice, neither craving nor transgressing there is no sin to him. Indeed, Allah is forgiving, merciful.' (2:173 and 5:4)

No Muslim should eat haraam food eaglerly, or become accoustomed to it or use this principle as an excuse to enjoy it under the pretext on necessity.

Final Thoughts!!

These days you can see the evidence too of eating fatty foods.... the consumption cloggs up your veins!! giving in the increase of heart attacks and obesity!!

Best things to consume healthy, fresh halaal meat, fruits, grains, veg, fresh baked breads, pastries, sweets. If you want buy processed foods but check out the ingredients. (Watch out for the animal fats or enzymes!)

Allah (swt) has given us bodies for our souls, surely we should maintain and lookafter our bodies?!

Messenger of Allah (pbuh) once said, 'There is an organ in the body that, if it is reformed the whole body is good, but if it becomes tainted, then the whole body is tainted. That organ is the heart.'

Remember, if you stay away from something in this life for Allah's sake, he will reward you more than you can imagine.

We place our trust in Allah. He has told us not to eat certain things then its for a good reason.
So lets keep our tables pure even as we try to keep our hearts pure as well.

Ameen.
