I think lau might be a pumpkin while khodu is a form of courgette?

no man they are aaaaallll khodus.

theres lal khodu - pumpkin

shofri khodo - light green, looks bit like a big shofri

bangla khodo - light green, some are round some are long, potential lau

ausha or mera/mita khodo - darker green, looks like a big courgette


A lau is a khodo that has been left to dry and becomes brown and really hard like wood. People usually use Bangla khodos for it. Thats why a bangla khodo is often called a lau.

Anyway once its become a lau ie brown and hardend, people make pots and stuff out of them. sometimes they make 'doog doogies'out of them. This is a clasic one string instument used by boiragies. Hence the song Shader Lau Banilo Boiragi
