I'm Sylhety too and put yoghurt in some dishes, it all depends on what your cooking.

But are you the kind of weirdo that'll put up with some guys mum inspecting your cooking before marriage. I mean WTF is that about? Like Raining said, what happens if your masala isn't right? No wedding?

P.S why are you Mrs Choudhary? Shouldn't it be Miss or Ms?

LOL@ure future mother in law (what a cheeeeeeek!!)Kinda feel sorry for ya, so here goes:

Bakhor khani is yummm.....not entirely sure how its made but its like a paratha....as in, its flaky and soft?

Okey soooo, you make the dough....flour n stuff, ohw, put some ghee in there for softness and some sugar maybe?

Neway...I think thats the ingredients, (perhaps...lol...)....you obvioulsy have to roll it out and I think you shallow fry it slightly in ghee for that rich buttery taste

So there ya go

But to be on the safe side, dont you know of anyone returning from bdesh? If they are, ask them to get you a boxfull from Bonoful, Sylhet....it wont go bad in transit and tastes yummmmmmy

G'luck

I'd never heard/tasted of this bakhor khani before. My sister said she had it in Bangladesh this year and it was great. She said it tastes better in BD. I thought it was their way of getting me to agree to go back to BD (they always try and trick me into going to marriage interviews in this country) so I thought it was another plan.

But if its really that good I might get a flight to BD just to find out what the fuss is about.

bakar khani is the only deshi food that i miss over here

and no one makes it better than the bonoful (the sylheti one... not the chittogong one) that's in in zindabazar.

sad thing is i didn't get to eat them this time because it was sooo hot in bd didn't feel like eating such greasy food. :afsos:

wish i had brought some with me

Maybe a very short trip is in order for myself next summer. One where I go alone and come back alone.
