Just thought it was the right time to issue a reminder.

The Learning to Cook thread has had 19 replies by lady members only.. we're doing well

BUT

I'm thinking some might be getting tempted to stick in a reply - i urge the resistance movement to hold out a while longer.

In this age of equality - where men and women both work and share the household chores - it's nice to see women are still concerned about their traditional functions plus when it comes to cooking i suppose it's more instinctive for us - stick a few pans in front of us, and a few jars of moshla and hey presto..

whereas i suppose with girls it's more of an acquired process... requires "learn-ing"

Thus for those of us who love our culture, our traditions, our values and our roles, we must persist.

(Advance Apologies if anyone takes anything i've just said seriously... )

(i have a firm intention to learn how to cook asian style..one day soon...hopefully....iA and i agree rice-cookers rock, you juz need to play around with how much water to add, but one cup of water for one cup of rice seems to work as opposed to the line markings)

You know Star, no matter how much I get tierd and nag at my husband to help around the house - I'd rather cook and let him get on with the hoovering etc etc. I think as a wife and mother I still have my duties that I need to fulfill, even if I am out at work full-time

Not only that. Different types of rice take different amounts of water - REMEMBER THAT VERY IMPORTANT! We used to use Tolly Boy and found that used more water than Jalali Rice which is what we eat now. But now we mix Basmati Rice, so the amount differs again.
