use some sort of a measuring pot (like a plastic cup) and then u'll have an idea how much the grains end up giving u (rice expands big time remember)
wash the rice 3 times
add one and a half times as much water for 'exact ratios', or twice as much for easy memory

boil the water till the rice looks and feels like it is done
drain away the excess water with a strainer then bingo! the bingo has his/her rice
