i didnt say im having trouble finding a nice restaurant in london..... i said im having trouble finding a nice halal restaurant that aint indian. ive tried out most cuisines, and always end up coming back to the indian food... its the best!

guess im just a picky eater.

does anyone know a place that does thai, mexican, spanish tapas or italian food with halal meat? havnt tried non-veggie versions of those cuisines yet.

here's an American Style 24 Diner..

Haven't tried it out yet - know one guy who's been, said it was okay... believe it was reviewed in the Guardian earlier this year..

http://tinseltown.co.uk

(the menu says all meat served is halal - though not sure what they mean by adding that they serve kosher bacon/ham could be fake ham or somink? but can go down and ask them in any case)

Alternatively i've noticed a Malaysian restaurant in Edgware Road - again haven't tried it..Probably already know this, but Edgware road is good for Arab cuisine and a quick drag on the Ooka / Shisha (not that i've tried)

As for Thai, assuming there aren't any decent ones in Southall/Wembley/Green St/East End - i know a Bangla restaurant in Enfield which has a halal Indian/Chinese/Thai menu.

ive been down edgeware road.... its really good for arab food, but thats not saying much cos arab food generally aint all that

i might try out that thai/chinese place you were talking bout, but i generally have a thing against south asians making non 'indian' food.... kinda like english people making curry: it just aint right! anyway, will have to put aside my prejudices and go try it i spose.

that diner looks quite cool.... checked out the website and it said 'all our meat is halal and all bacon and ham is using kosher meat'.... do you think its a joke or something?

anyway, will go down there and ask them: chilli con carne sounds nice. i do wonder what it tastes like when it aint home made!
