purdeys is a herbal fruit drink, also an energy drink. it was just released in to the market a few months back. its sold in dis silver bottle and tastes heavy!

Thanx for the info Make it legal, but if you read properly what it says, it says that it was first discovered from ox bile, and is now known to be synthesised from cysteine in the body, which means that althogh they did originally find it in ox bile, thats not the sole source of it.

Ok another question!! (any med students about), if you read the links given by Mr legal, you'll see that it says something about taurine causing inhibitory CNS transmission, and correct me if im wrong guys, but doesnt red bull say something about stimulation for body and mind, but if its inhibitory then how the hell does the drink work???

i ddnt say it was the sole source of it, but ox bile is the easiest, and fastest way to derive large quantities of it...


taurine is sposed to be a natural stimulant, in small quantities. large quantities can have adverse affects..

Sorry Gurl, didn't mean to confuse you, all i was tryin to say was that if the taurine in the drinks doesn't come from the ox then it won't be haraam will it!! (well thats what i like to think anyway )
