i think there should be a feature on this site which gives us a record of all the posts we make and reply to, like a sort of 'history' feature, which we can click through to refer to those posts or check for replies.

On a similar vein, How about something like getting the threads that have news posts since anyone's last visit. Something like last visit is stored in a cookie and then a search facility is used.

A blue arrow pointing down next to the title indicates a thread with new posts since your last visit.
