Ever wonder..........

Why a nun can be covered from head to toe and she's respected for devoting
herself to God, but when a Muslimah does that, she's "oppressed"?

Why a jew can grow a beard and he's just practicing his faith, and when a
Muslim does that, he's an extremist?

When a western woman stays at home to look after the house and kids

she's sacrificing herself and doing good for the household, but when a
Muslim woman does so, she "needs to be liberated"?

Why is it that when a child dedicates himself to a subject, he has
potential, and when a child dedicates himself to Islam, he is hopeless?

When a christian kills someone, religion is not mentioned, (i.e. IRA) but
when a Muslim is charged with a crime, it's Islam that goes to trial?

But then again, why is it after all that, Islam is still the fastest
growing religion in the world?

I'm not sure if your realy asking these questions to be answered but I think I can answer some. What I say isn't nescesarily my point of view but I'm trying to see it through western eyes.

Nuns have the choice to cover themselves and muslim women in some countries don't.

About the one where you say that if a child dedicates his life to Islam it is said that it's hopeless, I'v never heard anywhere about this point of view. Could you tell me where you gathered this one?

About the crime one, I very much agree with you.

About the beard, I have no idea.

It's sad and frustrating how America has painted Islam but many Muslims aren't helping people see the true Islam either. The terorism and blood shed in some countries that are done in the name of Islam isn't helping it at all. It would be more productive if we fed the poor and clothed the needy in the name of Islam because that is what Islam is about.

Even in countries where they do not have to cover themselves (such as Britain) they are still seen as oppressed - this is just part of the propaganda machine against Islam. The other point mentioned that whenever a group of Muslims murder or beat someone, they are reported as being "Islamic terrorists", but when a non-Muslim group does the same thing they are just reported as criminals (not christian or jewish terroists) is also part of this propaganda.

Try telling your teacher at school/college or career advisor that you intend to dedicate your life to Islam...see what he/she says about it. I know how some of the teachers at my college would have reacted!

You are right. But many of these so called "Islamic" groups are sponsered directly or indirectly by non-Muslims. Islam provides a very strong political force and has always been manipulated by tyrants to gain power and wealth. You can always distinguish these people because they will be prepared to be a slave to the non-Muslims.

That is why we should all make the effort to find scholars who we can trust and learn about our Fiqh. Some Muslims I've met are only able distinquish a good scholar from a bad one by the length of his beard! With this kind of ignorance its no wonder the Muslims have so many problems.

Wassalaam
Muhammad
