Can someone answer this question for me.

Why is it that people from Biani Bazar can't stand people from Mulavi Bazar & Bishwanat and vice versa? This is not so apparent here in England, but from what I can remember, it is in Bdesh. Its the same with people from Dhaka and Sylhet.

I am from Biani Bazar - Sylhet - and have quite a few Mulavi, Bishwanati & Dhaka-i friends but can't see what the problem is.

you know i dont understand it either, somone once said to me... "yeh, his from biani bazar, they`re so up them selves". i only know 2 people from there, they`re both safe but i can see why they and their families have issue's with other bengali poeple from other regions in bangladesh.

one of my biani bazar friends once said about another of my bengali mates "bloody lower class bengali", the way he said it was with a hatred towards the guy he doesnt even know that well.

i'd say that bengali people who decent from biani bazar do think they are better than the rest of us. where or when this segregation started, i have no idea.

think of UK, Wales/scotland/england - some scots cant stand the english, some english cant stand the scots, it's only the ignorant ones who have issues. the rest of us get along okey doekey.

I find that even our parents genration get along here in England, but as soon as they get over the border, its like like their whole way of thinking is totally transformed. Luckily though my family are OK.

I don't understand the caste divides - so i tend not to think about them (life is much better when you don't think)!!!

But i have a friend who always goes on about East-end lads being idiots (sorry to anyone from east-end!)and that isn't much better!!!
