Okay i'm not a complete techy but this is what I feel is the war between .net and Java
Who will win well think of it like linux and windows and teh current situation. Java was as concept i think that allowed client side processing to take place and exchange information as required with a server. Microsoft sudenly realised this concept would take off ( ha ha ha they thought the net would not take off! but thats another story) and introduced c# which used teh concepts of Java. Now here comes .NET. since microsoft has got tons of programmers world wide in Visual Basic and all da other programming codes they use they decided to use the know how and the power behind Object oriented programming and implement it like Java. So now programmers all over the microsoft world can write programmes that can be compiled and run by anyone with the right browser. Even on a unix platform ( yes they will have made it onto unix) so looks like bill gates boys have done it again as for me when will I learn to programme instead of just reading about it? when someone tells me or pays me! |

Microsoft programmers have to upgrade them to code in C#. I find no reason to jump Java programmers to C# or Visual Basic programmers to JAVA. The only fact is that, C# is only in its beta and would need almost 10 years maturity to be seriously considered by big businesses to switch from any exixting platform they are using. On the contrast, Microsoft's huge resource and aggresive marketting capabilites are why people thinking of Java vs C# (Its better to think Java vs .NET).Its true that Java's monopolistic popularity (accept VB) is going to be devided in the near future due to C#. We are yet to see the outcome.....
