Ok, does anyone have this certification or taken the test? I’m reading this book on how to pass the test (an Exam Guide). I just want to know what ya all think of the test. If you have no idea, then don’t worry about this topic.

Oh yea, one more thing, how much did ya pay to take the test?

Thumbs up

If you are already a computer pro (or at least have the basic knowledge of hardware) and are planning to take the test just to get certified, you don't really need to take any course. Read a book or two on A+ course and then go to www.freepractice.com and/or www.2prep.com and take all those free practice tests and keep taking until you score 100%.

But if you're starting from zero then you should take a course to get the hands on training. I don't know where do you live but in New York there seems to be a computer school in every two and a half blocks! They charge around $400 and the duration of the course is 4 weeks. Well, it's not really 4 weeks, it's 4 days -- one class a week. Now, ask yourself; is this possible for any genius to turn you-dummy (!) into a Computer Tech in just 4 days?

Many accredited educational institutions are offering computer technician courses. They won't call it A+ course but it's the same exact thing. I'd suggest you to go for one of those course. Good luck.

Thanks for the motivation Wais

Hey thanks Pir Saheb, Yea, I have this book that I’m reading called “ All-In-One A+ Certification Exam Guide” by Michael Meyers. Have you heard of this book? It’s 966 pages. Yea, I know a good deal about the hardware part(Built my own Comp)but the Dos part and Windows part of the test, I might need some help on, so I'm reading the book. Have you taken the test, if yes, how much did you pay in NY? Oh yea, thanks a lot for those links for practice tests.
