Actually chefs are very possessive about their recipices. But I think you are best off asking an asian mate's mum or sister who knows about cooking. They will show you how it is done, that will help you more than just a cook book.
Indo, it is a big secret, I even asked lunghiman once how to make chicken biryani (well the fist time I spoke to him to get his attention and an idea if he was interested in me lol) and he told me, 'sorry i cannot give out the recipe' but I can show you how you make it. lol I still have no idea to this day how he makes it, but it tastes yummy when he makes it!
