Description:
Signalling the end of Ramadan and starting on the first day of the Islamic calendar month of Shawwal, this three-day celebration is a time to give to people in need and to enjoy the company of family and friends.
The celebration starts early in the morning, with followers gathering either at outdoor locations or at mosques for the Eid prayer. This is followed with visits to family and friends, phoning relatives living far away and the giving of gifts.
