Rickshaw Idol Contest Changes Bangladeshi’s Life
For centuries the rickety wheels of the three-legged rickshaws that navigate Bangladesh’s sometimes narrow streets and alleys have been a way of life. Those that pilot the vehicles develop legs of steel to carry out this back-breaking work. However a recent development has given at least one of these rickshaw drivers a new chance at life.

Bangladesh Football Federation Fundraising Concerts
The Bangladesh Football Federation has decided to raise funds for the development of the sport and the youth. Not sure where to start to organize the perfect fundraising program, the Bangladesh Football Federation turned to a company called Antar Showbiz, one of the best management companies in Bangladesh, to find a way to raise TK Two Crore for their project. The answer that Antar Showbiz came up with, is hosting a number of concerts throughout the country, with sixty percent of the profit being put into the development fund.

Asian Art Biennale ‘08
The first Asian Art Biennale was held in Bangladesh in 1981. Its establishment was not only to expose the public to the variety of art that is found in Bangladesh and internationally, but to support and develop young artists in their chosen field. By attending each successive Asian Art Biennale, visitors will be able to see the progress and innovations as traditional art is influenced by the exploration of modern ideas and visions. The 2008 Asian Art Biennale hopes to show the local community that tradition and culture can be used in harmony with modernity to create breathtaking pieces of art.

Introducing the Whales and Dolphins of Bangladesh
With the goal of introducing whales and dolphins to the public and making people aware of the necessity for ongoing conservation efforts, the first ever Whale and Dolphin Exhibition in Bangladesh took place on 9-12 October at the Shishu Academy in Dhaka. Nature lovers were invited to gain insight into the lives of these friendly and highly intelligent sea mammals, and large numbers of people, young and old, accepted that invitation during the four-day event.
