Khagrachhari, also spelled Khagrachari, can be reached by road and most visitors on their way to this magnificent part of Bangladesh travel to Chittagong first, as it is the closest city to Khagrachhari. Dhaka is just over two hundred and sixty kilometers away, but the distances traveled to Khagrachhari will soon be forgotten once tourists begin to explore this spectacular hill town that is surrounded by forests, green vegetation and breathtaking views. Cable Car to Give Tourists Bird’s Eye View of Beautiful Mirinza

In an effort to attract more tourists to this beautiful part of Bangladesh, the Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, is planning to connect two slopes at Mirinza in the Banderban district by means of the country’s first cable car. This state-of-the-art cable car is expected to be in operation by the end of the year, and as the first ever to be put into operation in Bangladesh, it is expected to attract visitors from within Bangladesh as well as international travelers.

Bangladesh’s Team for the Beijing Olympics

Unfortunately none of the athletes in Bangladesh qualified for this year’s Olympic Games. But, then again, Bangladesh has not had an athlete qualify since 1971. This fact, which is always brought up in the media, does not dampen the spirits of the country, which keeps on trying and applying for wild card entries to partake in the Olympic Games. Their determination and great desire to take part in the Beijing Olympics won Bangladesh five wild card entries and an invitation for one their female shooters to attend as a spectator.

Shrine of Hazrat Shah Jalal
